Privacy Policy — gws CLI

This is a personal, single-user deployment of the open-source Google Workspace CLI (gws), run locally by an individual developer. It is not a hosted service, and it is not offered to other users. This policy explains what the tool does with Google user data.

Who operates this application

An individual developer, reachable at cozyzeyu@gmail.com. There is no company, no team, and no other operator behind it.

What data the application accesses

After you grant consent, the application uses the Google Workspace APIs to access data in your own Google account, limited to the scopes you approve at sign-in:

• Google Drive — file metadata and contents
• Google Sheets — spreadsheet contents
• Google Docs — document contents
• Google Slides — presentation contents
• Basic profile and email address, used only to identify the signed-in account

The application accesses this data only while you are running a command, and only to carry out that command.

Where data goes

Nowhere except between your computer and Google's own APIs. Specifically:

• There is no server operated by this application. No data is uploaded, collected, logged, or retained by the developer.
• Data fetched from Google is held in memory for the duration of a command and printed to your terminal or written to a file path you specify.
• Nothing is shared with, sold to, or transferred to any third party.
• No data is used for advertising, profiling, or to train machine-learning models.

Credentials

OAuth tokens are stored only on your own machine, at ~/.config/gws/, encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM using a key held in your operating system's keyring. They are never transmitted anywhere other than Google's authentication endpoints.

Limited Use disclosure

This application's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Revoking access and deleting data

You may revoke this application's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To remove all locally stored credentials, delete the ~/.config/gws/ directory. Because no data is stored off your machine, this removes everything.

Children

This is a developer tool and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revision date above will be updated.
